Garfield would certainly be up for another team-up movie as long as the story called for it: "It would have to be something very unique, very special and serving to an audience and in service of the character."Ĭould we see Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and Venom in the fourth movie? He does appear in the credits scene, but is taken back to his own universe. However, they do now have official MCU names as "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" (Maguire) and "The Amazing Spider-Man" (Garfield), so who's to say they couldn't swing by the MCU again? It's also unlikely that Andrew Garfield or Tobey Maguire would return, again, to their roles, given that their brief but meaningful appearance in No Way Home is rectified as the plot reseals the multiverse up. The multiverse does offer the possibility of an alternate Aunt May (like the alternate Spider-Men), but we feel this won't be done. One person who definitely won't be in it is Marisa Tomei, as Aunt May is tragically killed by the Green Goblin. Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) doesn't know Peter now either, but he does know Spider-Man so he could be back again. That could mean MJ and Ned won't be in a potential fourth movie, although we're just speculating for now. He decides not to tell them and leaves the diner. He's about to tell the truth to both of them, but when he spots a plaster on MJ's head from the movie's final battle, Peter remembers that his friends would be in danger if they knew. A few weeks later, Peter goes to tell MJ the truth when Ned arrives at the diner she works at. In a tearful goodbye to them, he promises them that he'll search them out and make them remember him. In order to stop the multiverse breaking open, Peter gets Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to carry out the spell that will make the entire world forget he is Spider-Man – which includes MJ and Ned. This feels like an overload of films, even for a cinematic universe as chockablock as the MCU. This could be Spider-Man 4, but this would place the film one month after Captain America: New World Orderand one month prior to Thunderbolts. The Sony date that has inspired the aforementioned whispers is an unconfirmed Marvel project for June 7, 2024. In the past, there have been two years between each Spider-Man movie within the MCU, but we have a feeling it'll be a bigger gap for the next film, as 2023 already has two Marvel films slated for release ( Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on June 2 and Madame Web on October 6). Until there's something confirmed, however, we will steer clear of the unsubstantiated whispers. As with anything Marvel or Marvel-adjacent, rumours abound. Spider-Man 4 potential release date: When will Spider-Man 4 be out in cinemas?Īs mentioned above, Spider-Man 4 might be in development, but doesn't yet have a release date confirmed. With that in mind, here's what we know so far about Spider-Man 4. Let's hope that's not the case though and that we'll see Tom Holland as Spider-Man again in the MCU. "There definitely was a sense for me, as an actor, that this was the last time that I could potentially don the suit, so a lot of that emotion came from the act of saying goodbye, which is one of the biggest themes throughout this film," Holland explained. While that's exciting for the future, it does also mean that this could well be the end. A teaser released in December 2021 showed Morales (Shameik Moore) and Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) embarking on another far-flung interdimensional adventure, interrupted by Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099, who was voiced by Oscar Isaac in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.The possibilities for that new movie are endless as No Way Home wipes the slate clean for whatever Spidey does next. The Spider-Verse movies explore a multiverse filled with alternate worlds, each with their own Spider-Man. At the moment, Sony has not yet moved the release date of the now untitled third Spider-Verse movie from March 29, 2024.Īcross the Spider-Verse will continue the story of Miles Morales after the events of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The movie is the second of three movies in the Spider-Verse trilogy, and along with the date change, Sony announced that the movie has been retitled, dropping the phrase “Part One” from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One). In November 2019, a visual teaser announced an April 2022 date. This is the second time the movie has been delayed. The news came through an update to Sony Pictures’ theatrical release calendar. The movie was originally slated to be released in October of this year. Spider-Verse’s sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, has been delayed and is now scheduled to be released on June 2, 2023. Miles Morales, the heart and soul of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, will come swinging back a little later than anticipated.
